1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Sugar
1 Egg
1 c Prepared mincemeat
1 1/2 c All-purpose flour
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/4 ts Salt

Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg, and beat well. Add mincemeat, mixing well. Combine flour, soda, and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 16 to 18 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
